ANATOMY

BONE AND MUSCLE SYSTEM:Altough it is smaller in dimensions, cat's multi operational skeleton system resembles the human's.There

are two main differencas between them.Firstly cat's vertebral column includes more bones.Vertebra is made of various vertebras. As their con-

nections are looser, cats can move more easily than us.Secondly, cat doesn't have a clavicle, instead it has clavicle tissue in chest muscles.Cat's

chin, leg and back muscles are very strong.

RESPIRATORY SYSTEM:Respiratory system is composed of nose, mouth, larinx, trachea, bronchus, lungs and diaphragm. It breathes normally

10-30 times in a minute. There aren't any muscles in lungs. When cat breathes its sternum goes up and diaphragm is pulled back.this forms a little

vacuum and air goes to lungs.Normally nose of the cat is wet but if there is extra flux this means it is ill.

CIRCULATION SYSTEM:The most hard-working organ in a cat is heart. It is made of two pumps and four rooms.Dirty blood(having carbon

dioxide etc.)comes with ceins to the heart. This dirty blood is pomped to lungs. It is cleared there and comes back to heart by arteries. The normal

heart beat is 80-175 in a minute.Lymph system is a subsystem of the circulation system. It includes lymph glands, lymphosits and antibodies.

DIGESTION SYSTEM:Digestion starts at mouth. With the help of the saliva carbohydrates are digestad.Color of a healthy cat'c tongue is pink.

Cats use teeth for protection, hunting cutting or breaking up the food.As it is a developed carnivore cat's esofagus is suitable for only meat. The most

important organ of digestion system is stomach.Nearthe stomach is pancreas. The first duty of pancreas is notralising the substance passing to

intestines from the stomach.Liver is very important for fat and carbohydrate metabolism.

NERVOUS SYSTEM:Brain of your cat operates as a computer:it regulates the message traffic from inside or outside by the help of spinal cord

and nerve cells. As cats are hunters there is a strong relationship between their brains and sensories. But the front lob of the brain is less developed

with respect to primats.
